NBA Betting Pick and Prediction: Brooklyn Nets vs. Washington Wizards
November 12, 2023
The Washington Wizards will travel to Brooklyn, New York to face the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Sunday afternoon with tipoff scheduled for 3:00 PM ET, and the game will air on the YES Network.
Washington has been one of the worst teams to start the season in the NBA as they enter this matchup with a record of 2-6 with the Detroit Pistons only having a worse record than the Wizards in the Eastern Conference and the Memphis Grizzlies having the worst record in the NBA. The Wizards have a record of 1-4 in November with the lone win coming against the Charlotte Hornets on the road by a score of 132-116 but lost to the Hornets at home on Friday night by a score of 117-124 and have not won against a team with a winning record this season with their wins coming against the Memphis Grizzlies who have the worst record in the NBA and the Charlotte Hornets who have a record of 3-5. Washington has been one of the highest-scoring teams in the league this season as they rank 6
in the NBA in points per game with an average of 119.29 points, however, they have the worst scoring defense in the NBA as they are allowing an average of 126.86 points per game.
The Brooklyn Nets aren’t doing as bad as the Washington Wizards are this season, however, they are still below .500 on the year with a record of 4-5 which puts them in last place in the Atlantic Division and puts them in 10
place in the Eastern Conference. They have gone .500 to start November with wins on the road against the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls while defeating the Los Angeles Clippers at home, however, they have lost to three of the top teams in the Eastern Conference with a loss at home against the Milwaukee Bucks and two losses against the Boston Celtics including Friday’s 107-121 loss on the road. However, the Nets have only lost one game against a team with a losing record this season and they should have an easier game on Sunday afternoon when they host the Washington Wizards.
BookMaker has the Brooklyn Nets listed as 7-point favorites at home against the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon. Brooklyn has won seven of the last ten including the previous four games in a row while going 6-3-1 ATS in the last ten and 3-0 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Washington Wizards are 4-4 ATS overall, 3-2 ATS on the road, and 3-3 ATS as an underdog this season while the Brooklyn Nets are 7-1-1 ATS overall, 3-0-1 ATS at home, and 1-0 ATS as a favorite on the year.
Brooklyn swept the series last season winning all four games while going 4-0 ATS in those contests. This season the Nets have been one of the best teams at covering the spread as they are 7-1-1 ATS overall and have gone 3-0-1 ATS at home. The Nets are also 6-3-1 ATS in the last three meetings against the Washington Wizards. I look for the Nets to make it five wins in a row against the Washington Wizards while also covering the spread at home which is why I am laying the points with the Brooklyn Nets when they host the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon.
Spooky Express Pick: Brooklyn Nets -7
