NBA Betting Pick and Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Los Angeles Lakers
November 25, 2023
The Los Angeles Lakers will travel to Cleveland, Ohio to face the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage Field House on Saturday evening with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 PM ET and will air on Bally Sports Ohio.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the better teams in the NBA over their last eight games as they have won six of their last eight games which brings their record to 9-7 this season and puts them in 7
place in the Western Conference, however, the Lakers are coming off a 101-104 loss at home against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday which ended their three-game winning streak. Los Angeles has been one of the lower-scoring teams in the NBA this season as they enter this game averaging 112.38 points per game while allowing the 11
fewest points per game with an average of 112.06 points per game. Despite playing in his 20
season in the NBA, LeBron James continues to play at an elite level as he leads the Lakers in scoring with an average of 25.7 points per game.
Cleveland saw their four-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday with a loss at home against the Miami Heat by a score of 96-129 which also dropped their record of 8-7 this season which puts them in 8
place in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is averaging the 8
fewest points per game with an average of 110.87 points per game while allowing 112.73 points per game which ranks 13
in the NBA, however, the Cavaliers like to play at a slower tempo which is why they are one of the lowest scoring teams in the league. Donovan Mitchell has been one of the catalysts for the early success of the Cavaliers this season as he leads the team in scoring with an average of 29.2 points per game, however, he will be a game-time decision with a hamstring injury after missing the previous four games for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
BookMaker has the Cleveland Cavaliers listed as 4.5-point favorites at home against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday evening. Los Angeles has won seven of the last ten while Cleveland has won two of the last three meetings. The teams are 5-5 ATS in the last ten while the Cavaliers are 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Los Angeles Lakers are 6-10 ATS overall, 3-4 ATS on the road, and 2-3 ATS as an underdog this season while the Cleveland Cavaliers are 6-9 ATS overall, 2-5 ATS at home, and 2-6 ATS as a favorite on the year.
Los Angeles enters this game with a slightly better record, however, Cleveland has been the better team most recently in the series, winning two of the last three games while going 2-1 ATS in those contests. However, the Cleveland Cavaliers have struggled to cover the spread at home as they are 2-5 ATS at home and have only covered the spread in three of their last 13 home games which is why I am buying the .5 point and taking the points with the Los Angeles Lakers when they travel to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday evening.
