NBA Betting Pick and Prediction: Denver Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns

December 1, 2023

The defending champion Denver Nuggets get set to take on the Phoenix Suns Friday night inside the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. They jump it up at 10:00 pm. Denver has been on a little run, as they have ripped off three straight wins.

Bookmaker has installed the Nuggets as a slim 1.5 point favorite.

Denver Nuggets Betting Preview

The Nuggets (13-6) find themselves a game back behind the front-running Minnesota Timberwolves in the Northeast Standings. Denver is led by the best player in the league in Nikola Jokic who had a triple-double against the Houston Rockets as he poured in 32 points and dished out 15 assists to go along with 10 rebounds in a 134-124 win on Wednesday night.

Jokic has been a star since he came into the league and he is looking to take the Nuggets back to the NBA Finals with a chance to repeat as champions. Denver has a loaded roster and starting five and they have a bunch of complementary players that fit in perfectly, including Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray.

Porter Jr. chips in 17 a game and Murray adds 16 for Denver, which does a great job of not turning the ball over. They only have 12 a game and that is below the league average. They are a smart team and they play both ends of the floor too.

Phoenix Suns Betting Preview

The Suns (11-7) are still finding their footing this season. They have yet to really figure it out and they have three legit players and stars on their roster, but they have been slow out of the gate. They are hoping to get all their star players on the floor at the same time and they believe they can make one last push at a run into the NBA Finals.

They know that their window of opportunity is closing. Their recent seven-game winning streak certainly helped before it was snapped against the Toronto Raptors in a 112-105 setback.

They are led on offense by future HOF'er Kevin Durant who is averaging a whooping 31 points a game and once agains showing he has a lot left in the tank for a team that desperately needs him to carry them. Durant has gotten some nice help from star shooting guard Devin Booker, who has been dealing with a right ankle injury and might not be able to go.

The Suns would love to have him on the floor and healthy as he sets the tone and loves to push the pace. He does a fantastic job of getting his teammates involved in the offense and looks to dish first and score second.

Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick

The Suns are 4-1 in their last five games and 4-1 in their last five games against the spread. They are also 6-4 in their roadgames against the number. The totals have gone over in three of their last five games and the totals have gone over in seven of their last eight games at home. Denver is 3-2 in their last five games and 2-2 in their last five games against the spread.
