NBA Betting Pick and Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers vs. San Antonio Spurs

December 13, 2023

The Los Angeles Lakers look to keep their winning ways going when they clash against the San Antonio Spurs Wednesday night inside the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. They tip it off at 8:00pm.

The Spurs are looking to snap their horrible 17-game losing streak and pick up just their second win at home this season.

Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview

The Lakers have had a decent start to the season and they have been playing some solid basketball overall. They are looking to make a deep run into the playoffs and they are showing they are starting to put it together.

Los Angeles is still led by the great LeBron James who is still scoring at an amazing rate. He does not appear to be slowing down at all and has had some monster games this season so far for the Lakers. James is averaging close to 25 points per game to go along with seven rebounds and close to seven assists per game.

Los Angeles is also getting some much-needed production from power forward Anthony Davis who has been dealing with some injuries, including a groin/hip injury. If the Lakers do not have him on the floor, James will have to shoulder the bulk of the scoring 22 points a game to go along with a team-high 12 rebounds and he has played both ends of the floor.

When healthy he is a solid rim protector too.

The Lakers connect on a brilliant 55% from the floor, including 29.7% from beyond the arc. Their three-point shooting is a touch below the league average and they have to do a better job of knocking down those open looks.

San Antonio Spurs Betting Preview

The Spurs have had a horrible start to their season and they are a very young team trying to figure out a way to win. San Antonio is not a good team and they have had some serious growing pains but they have a solid core to turn things around.

They are led on offense by the new face of the franchise and center Victor Wembanyama, who is averaging 18 points per game to go along with 10 rebounds. He has shown he is a rising star but is still young and needs some help from his teammates.

The Spurs are a very bad team defensively and they have to learn to get back on defense and not allow the Lakers to get into a groove and score easy transitional buckets. They are connecting on 45% from the floor, while hitting on 33% from beyond the arc. They are averaging around 109 points per game which ranks 25th in the league.

Their defensive rating is 118.2 which sits at 24th rank and they are allowing a whooping 121 points per contest which ranks them 27h among all teams in the league.

Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
