The streaking New Orleans Pelicans get set to take on the Memphis Grizzlies Tuesday night inside the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, LA. They jump it up at 7:30 pm.

 

 

 

The Pelicans (16-11) have shown some big-time signs of life, as they have ripped off four straight wins and an impressive seven of nine overall. They are coming into this one hot from the floor, as they drilled a franchise record 22 three-pointers as they rolled the lously San Antonio Spurs the last time they hit the floor, 146-110. They ended 22-of-42 from beyond the arc and they were in such a groove that it seemed every player on the floor got into the mix. 

 

Brandon Ingram was brilliant from that spot, connecting on 5-of-7 as he ended the game with 26 points. Ingram is averaging 23 on the season and has carved out a niche as a leader on this team. 

 

Overall, the Pelicans are led by young power forward Zion Williamson who has started to show why many believe he is the face of the franchise. He is scoring 22 a game while hauling down close to six rebounds per contest.

 

The Pelicans knock down 54% of their shots from the floor while connecting on 37% from beyond the arc. Look for them to continue their hot streak on Tuesday night against a team that has had issues guarding the perimeter. 

 

 

The Grizzlies (6-18) have struggled of late as they have dropped four straight games and they are in trouble of letting the season get away from them. They are 9 1/2 games back of the Dallas Mavericks in the Southeast Division and need to stop the bleeding with a win. 

 

Memphis is led by shooting guard Desmond Bane who is netting close to 24 points per game and he is also handing out 5.2 assists per contest as well. He has had to shoulder the offensive burden and load and has had some explosive games over the past two or so weeks, scoring 28,28 and 49 points over that span. 

 

The Grizzlies have had some major issues with playing mistake-free basketball and they have had a ton of issues guarding the opposition's guards. They also need to guard the perimeter as well. They need to figure out a way to slow down Williamson and not let him dominate in the paint.
