The red-hot Minnesota Timberwolves look to make it three straight wins overall when they take on the Utah Jazz Thursday night inside the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They toss it up at 8:00 pm. The Timberwolves have been playing some of their best basketball in years and have gotten off to a great start this season. 

Bookmaker has installed the Timberwolves as a heavy 9 1/2 point favorite. 

The Timberwolves have had a great start to their season and they have been playing their best basketball over the last several weeks and a win on Thursday will see their winning streak reach three straight and six of seven. They have a stacked starting five who have some very athletic players on the floor. 

On offense, they are led by shooting guard Anthony Edwards who is battling through a hip injury. He was still able to go out there and score 21 points in Tuesday's win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. He also added five rebounds and one assist in the triumph. For the season, he is averaging 26 points per game. 

He is a big-time playmaker and the face of the franchise. Veteran center Karl-Anthony Towns has provided a nice spark and steady stream of offense, by netting 21 a game to go along with eight boards per contest. The Timberwolves connect on close to 55% from the floor, including 37% from beyond the arc. They are a smart team and play solid defense too. 

The Jazz have not had the type of start they envisioned and they have really struggled on both sides of the floor. They have managed to win two straight after dropping four straight games. But, they have not been consistent this season and that has been a major issue through 17 games. 

Utah feels they have the make-up to make the postseason and they also believe they have the right foundation in place too. They are led on offense by Lauri Markkanen who is dealing with a hamstring issue and he was not available for Wednesday's contest against Memphis. He has put up some monster numbers this season as he is averaging around 23 points a game to go along with close to nine rebounds per contest. 

Utah has to improve on their ball handling and not turn the ball over as much as they have. They are turning the ball over 16 times a game which is one of the highest in the league. It has really contributed to some bad losses this season.

Minnesota is 4-1 in their last five games and they are also 3-1 in their last five games against the number and 2-5 in their road games against the number. The totals have gone over in two of their last five games and four of their last nine games at home. The Jazz are 2-3 in their last five games and 3-2 in their last five games against the number. They are also 2-6 in their road games against the number.
