The New Orleans Pelicans get set to take on the Phoenix Suns Friday night inside the Smoothie Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. They jump it up at 8:00pm and on paper this should be a fun game to watch and enjoy.  Bookmaker has installed the Pelicans as a slim 2 1/2 point favorite in this clash. 

The Pelicans (25-17) are really fun to watch as they play an uptempo type of hoops and they like to push the pace and get up the floor. They have won five of eight  overall and have had some wild games and they have scored 130 or more points in three of those wins during that stretch.

They are a very athletic team and will love to get this game to over 125 plus points, which would benefit them. On offense, they are led by power forward Zion Williamson who is averaging around a team-hgh 21.9 points, while guard Brandon Ingram is adding 21.8 a clip.

Williamson is the key to the offense and the success of the Pelicans, as he goes they go, and they need him on the floor and engaged. 

Both players have lifted the play of the Pelicans and they are becoming a very solid 1-2 punch. 

The Suns (22-18) have had some nice wins this season but with the amount of talent they have on their roster they believe they should be a better team and they have the talent and the depth to win more games. 

They have several big-time scorers, leading the way is future HOF'er power forward Kevin Durant, who is averaging around 26 points per game, while shooting guard Devin Booker is contributing close to 27 a game and has shown he is one of the best guards in the entire league. 

He loves to push the ball up the floor and get it into the hands of Durant. His backcourt mate Bradley Beal has added a nice little punch to the offense, as he is averaging 17 points per contest to go along with just under four assists per game. 

The Suns connect on 54% from the floor, while they drill 31% from beyond the arc as a team. They have some decent long range shooters on their roster. Look for the big three to have a hand in the win and also look for Durant to get going early in this one. 

The Pelicans are 3-2 in their last five games and 3-2 in their last five games against the spread. They are also 11-9 in their road games against the number too. The totals have gone over in four out of their last five games and 10 out of their last 21 games at home.
