The New York Knicks get set to clash against the reeling and struggling Washington Wizards Thursday nightinside famed Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. They tip it off at 7:30pm. The Knicks have been playing their best basketball of the season of late. 

The Knicks have had a solid start to their season and they have also been in the midst of a nice little run, winning six of eight overall as they entered Wednesday's night game against the Houston Rockets. 

New York has some great inside and out talent as they will rely on guard Jalen Brunson to try to spark the offense and get them going. He has played very well thus far this season and enters this game having averaged 25 per contest to go along with six assists as well. 

He is a very sound and smart player and looks to get his teammates into the mix first and foremost. He will also look to push the ball up the floor and get it in the hands of big man Juluis Randle, who enters Thursday's action having contributed 26 points per contest. 

The Wizards are one of the worst teams in the league and they are in the midst of a horrible stretch that has seen them drop ten of 12 overall. They have only won seven games this season and they have not been remotely competitive in some of their most recent losses. 

Defensively, they are giving up way too many points and on any given night the opposition has a chance to pour in 120 or more. Washington does not have the offensive firepower to match that at all. 

They are led on offense by small forward Kyle Kuzma, who is averaging around 22.4 game to go along with close to seven rebounds and just under five assists per game. He is one of their lone bright spots this season. He needs to get better production from his teammates, including shooting guard Jordan Poole, who chips in with 17 a game in close to 30 minutes per contest. If the Wizards can't contain Brunson and not allow him to penetrate and get into the lane it could be a long night for them. 

They also need to crash the boards and do a better job of rebounding than they have in week's past. 

The Knicks are 3-2 in their last five games and 3-2 in their last five games against the spread and a solid 13-11 in their roadgames against the number. The totals have also gone over in just one of their last five games and the totals have gone over in six out of their last 16 games at home. 

The Wizards are 1-4 in their last five games and 2-2 in their last five games against the number and a solid 12-8 in their road games against the spread. The totals have gone over in two out of their last five games and ten out of their last 17 games at home.
