The Phoenix Suns look to make it two straight wins overall when they clash against the reeling Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night inside Moda Center in Portland, OR. They jump it up at 10:00 pm. The Suns are a team that is hoping to make a deep run come playoff time. 

 

 

 

The Suns (14-12) have a ton of talent and they believe their window to win a title is closing, but they have not gotten off to the start they envisioned when the season started. They have a ton of playmakers and several All-Star players, including veteran Kevin Durant who is netting around 30 points a game -- which leads all players on the team. 

 

The Suns also get a ton of scoring output from Devin Booker who is averaging 28 a game and he is also collecting a team-high 8.3 assists per game too. The Suns will look for him to push the ball up the court and he is the playmaker they have been missing for years.

 

If they can get Durant going in this one they should be able to coast to an easy win over a struggling Portland team. Look for the guards to get him into the mix early and often 

 

 

The Trail Blazers (6-19) have had a dismal start to the season and they are a horrible home team as well. Portland is just 2-9 at home and they have gotten blown out in some home games as well. They need to find a way to contain Durant early in this one if they are going to try to keep it close. 

 

On offense, they are led by shooting guard Anfernee Simons, who has emerged as a nice player who is averaging 26 a game for a bad Portland team, which gives up way too many points. Portland needs to do a better job of protecting the rim and also the paint. 

 

They need to get their guards into the mix and slow down the tempo in this game. If they look to push the pace and tempo they will get blown out, as they do not have the type of offense that the Suns do. 

Portland connects 49% from the floor and 34.2 from beyond the arc.

The totals have gone over in two of their last five games too and three out of their last eight games at home. The Suns are 1-4 in their last five games and 0-5 in their last five games against the spread. They are also 6-5 in their road games against the number too.
