NBA Betting Pick and Prediction: Toronto Raptors vs. Golden St Warriors

January 7, 2024

A rematch of the 2019 NBA Finals will take place on Sunday night when the Toronto Raptors travel to San Francisco, California to face the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center with tip-off scheduled for 8:30 PM ET.

The Toronto Raptors have been one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference this season as they enter this game with a record of 14-21 which puts them in 12th place in the conference and are coming off a 130-135 loss on the road against the Sacramento Kings on Friday which also ended their two-game win streak. Toronto has been a below-average team offensively and defensively this season as they enter this game averaging 114.49 points per game which ranks 17th in the league while allowing an average of 115.63 points per game which ranks 17th in the NBA.

Scottie Barnes has been one of the best players on the team as he leads the team in rebounds and steals and is 2nd on the team in scoring, assists, and blocks with an average of 20.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.46 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game. The Toronto Raptors will look to bounce back following the loss on the road against the Kings when they travel to face the Golden State Warriors.

Golden State enters this game with a record of 17-18 which puts them in 10th place in the Western Conference, however, they have won two of their last three games including a 113-109 win at home against the Detroit Pistons on Friday. The Warriors dynasty and the Splash Brothers duo may be ending as they have not been as great offensively this season as they enter this game averaging 117.11 points per game which ranks 9th in the NBA while Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry are combining for an average of 44.5 points per game.

Golden State has also been a below-average team defensively this season as they are allowing an average of 116.49 points per game which is more than the league average of 115.49 points per game. The Warriors will look to build off the momentum following the win at home against the Pistons on Friday when they host the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night.

BookMaker has the Golden State Warriors listed as 2-point favorites at home against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night. The teams are 5-5 in the last ten while Golden State has won two of the last three meetings. The Warriors are 6-4 ATS in the last ten and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Toronto Raptors are 16-18-1 ATS overall, 7-9-1 ATS on the road, and 8-10-1 ATS as an underdog this season while the Golden State Warriors are 17-18 ATS overall, 8-12 ATS at home, and 7-14 ATS as a favorite on the year.

Golden State enters this game with a better record and has been the better team most recently in the series, winning two of the previous three meetings. The Warriors are 6-4 ATS in the last ten and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. As a result, I am laying the points with the Golden State Warriors when they host the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night.
