The Washington Wizards hit the road as they take on the Toronto Raptors Monday night inside the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario on what is a very light night in the league. They tip it off at 7:30 pm. 

The Raptors are installed as a 10 point favorite by Bookmaker. 

The Wizards (2-7) are not a very good team and they have had issues on the road this season. They do not have a ton of expectations for this season and they are just looking to build a foundation going forward.

The face of the franchise is Kyle Kuzma who is scoring 24 points a game and has averaged just under 20 a clip in his career against the Raptors. He has really blossomed since coming over to the Wizards just over two seasons ago. Washington will have to make this an ugly low-scoring game and they need to make sure they do not allow the Raptors to get out on fast breaks. 

If the Wizards can slow down the pace and make the Raptors take bad shots, they can keep this game close. They need to also be careful and not turn the ball over as they are turning it over 14 times a game, which leads to easy buckets for the opposition. 

The Raptors (4-5) have had an interesting start to their season as they have not played the most consistent hoops as they sit a game under .500. Toronto has won two of three overall, but they are coming off a bad loss to the Boston Celtics, 117-94. They hung around after two quarters but then the Celtics flexed their veteran muscles and pulled away. 

Toronto needs to push the pace in this game and they need to get Scottie Barnes going early and often. They also need to allow him to create as he is a pure scorer and can also dish the ball too. He is averaging 20 a game while handing out six assists to go along with just under ten boards a contest. The Raptors are not the best shooting team in the league, but they have some veteran guys who are capable of knocking down shots from beyond the arc. 

Look for the guards to push it and try to get those open looks as well. They are hitting around 35% from three-point land Dennis Schroder is their most consistent shooter from that distance as he connects on 34% a game. 

The Raptors are 3-2 in their last five games and 3-2 in their last five games against the number and 3-2 in their road games against the spread. The totals have gone over in three of their last five games and the totals have gone over in two of their last four games at home. The Wizards are 1-4 in their last five games and 3-2 in their last five games against the number. The totals have gone over in five of their last five games. 

The Raptors have more athleticism and we like them in this one.
