The Boston Celtics look to make it three straight wins when they clash against the New York Knicks on Monday night inside TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. They tip it off at 7:30 pm. Boston has been a very good team at home, going undefeated with a record of (4-0).  Will they be able to hold off the Knicks and stay undefeated at home?  

The Celtics (7-2) have won two straight after dropping two in a row to push their record to five games over .500 early on in the season. They had a nice win on Saturday as they crushed the Toronto Raptors, 117-94.  Jayson Tatum went off and netted a team-high 27 points and he is averaging around 27 points a game. He is an early candidate for MVP even though we are very early in the season. They trail the Philadelphia 76ers by 1/2 game for the top spot in the Atlantic Division. 

Tatum loves playing New York as he has tormented them to the tune of 34 a clip over the course of his career. 

Boston has a ton of depth and talent which is what makes them such a dangerous team going forward. They have several scorers aside from Tatum, including his backcourt mate Jaylen Brown, who is averaging 23 a game and has had some nice games against the Knicks too. 

Boston shoots around 44% from beyond the arc and the Knicks will need to do a better job on the defensive perimeter. If they allow the Celtics to knock down those open looks, it could be a long night for them. 

The Knicks (5-4) sit in third place in the Atlantic Division but they are playing decent hoops over the last week or so. New York has won three straight games, including the last time they stepped out on the court which was.a 129-107 win over the Charlotte Hornets. They had a ton of balanced scoring in that one, and look for them to try to get that type of effort on the offensive side of the floor against a very good defensive team in the Celtics. 

On offense, New York is led by rising point guard Jalen Brunson who is scoring 22 points.a game and he is also logging a ton of minutes. He is playing close to 35 minutes a game and the offense revolves around him night in and night out. 

The Knicks have done a much better job of late playing defense on the low block as well as guarding the three-point shot. They need to make sure they do not allow the Celtics shooters to get clean looks in this one. 

New York has done a much better job of not turning the ball over as well, as they only give it up 12 times a game. 

Boston is 3-2 in their last five games and 2-2 in their last five games against the number. They are also 1-2 in their road games against the spread and the totals have gone over in two of their last five games. The totals have also gone over in two of their last four games at home. New York is 3-2 in their last five games and a very solid 4-1 in their last five games against the spread. Plus, the Knicks are 3-1 in their road games against the number. 

Boston is just the deeper more talented team.  We will take Boston here on Monday Night!
