NBA Betting Picks and Predictions: Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami Heat
November 16, 2023
The Brooklyn Nets look to make it three straight wins overall when they clash against the even hotter and streaking Miami Heat Thursday night inside Kayesa Center in Miami, Florida. They tip it off at 7:30 pm. Miami has been on a tear of late and they look to continue their winning ways.
BetDSI has installed the Heat as a solid four-point favorite in this one.
Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview
The Nets (6-5) have won two straight and will look to make it three wins in a row and get on a little run here. Brooklyn is coming off a 124-104 triumph over the Orlando Magic the last time they stepped out on the floor. Cam Thomas has played very well this season as he is averaging 26 points per game to go along with four rebounds and a pair of assists per contest.
Brooklyn will once again be without the services of the talented but oft-injured Ben Simmons, who is set to miss additional time because of what is deemed as nerve irritation in his hip per multiple reports. He was averaging just six points a game but they would love to have him on the floor to set the tone of the offense and be the floor general.
The Nets connect on 54% from the floor, including 38% from beyond the arc. They will look to slow down the pace in the absence of Simmons and make it an ugly low-scoring game. They have to do a better job of not turning the ball over as they give it up 13 times a game. If they can play some clean and smart basketball they have a chance to keep this game close.
Miami Heat Betting Preview
The Heat (7-4) have been on a tear of late as they have ripped off six straight and have the look of a team that is ready to once again make a run into the playoffs. They are a battle-tested and veteran team and they have been there before.
On offense, they are led by veteran Jimmy Butler who is netting around 20 points per game. They are going to be short-handed as well as they will be without the services of Tyler Herro who suffered a Grade 2 ankle sprain during Wednesday's win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Reports are saying he will be re-evaluated in a few weeks.
They shot well from the floor as they are shooting 45% from the floor which ranks 20
th
in the league.
