NBA Betting Picks and Predictions: Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets
November 20, 2023
The Houston Rockets will travel to San Francisco, California to face the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on Monday night with tip-off scheduled for 10:00 PM ET.
Houston saw their six-game winning streak come to an end on Friday with a loss on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers by a score of 100-106 and then lost again on Sunday on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 104-105 which has dropped them to 7
th
place in the Western Conference with a record of 6-5. The Houston Rockets like to play at a slower tempo than the majority of the teams in the NBA as they are one of the lowest-scoring teams while also having one of the best scoring defenses as they enter this game averaging the 8

fewest points per game with an average of 109.9 points per game while allowing the 2

fewest points with an average of 105.8 points per game. The Houston Rockets will face another team that has struggled this season when they travel to face the Golden State Warriors.
The Golden State Warriors have not looked like the high-scoring team of previous seasons and their record has suffered because of that as they enter this game having lost six games in a row after starting the season off 6-2 and are only averaging 109.67 points per game during their loading streak while allowing an average of 117.33 points per game. The Warriors are averaging under the league average this season as well as they are averaging 113.36 points per game which is also surprising as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have been able to play in the majority of the games this season. Curry is still one of the best shooters in the NBA and leads the team in scoring with an average of 30.3 points per game, however, no other player on the team is averaging more than 14 points per game.
BookMaker has the Golden State Warriors listed as 7.5-point favorites
at home against the Houston Rockets on Monday night. Golden State has won the last ten meetings and has won by an average margin of 13.6 points per game over the last ten and 13 points per game over the last three games in the series. The Warriors are 7-2-1 ATS in the last ten and 3-0 ATS in the last three meetings. The Houston Rockets are 7-3-1 ATS overall, 2-2 ATS on the road, and 6-3 ATS as an underdog this season while the Golden State Warriors are 6-8 ATS overall, 1-6 ATS at home, and 2-6 ATS on the year.
The Houston Rockets enter this game with the better record, however, both teams are on multiple-game losing streaks as the Rockets have lost two in a row while the Warriors have lost six games in a row. The Rockets have been the better team this season at covering the spread as they are 7-3-1 ATS overall while the Warriors are 6-8 ATS overall and are 1-6 ATS at home which is why I am buying the .5 point and taking the points with the Houston Rockets on Monday night.
Spooky Express Pick: Houston Rockets +8
