The red-hot Philadelphia 76ers look to make it five straight wins when they host the Washington Wizards Monday night inside the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. They tip it off at 7 p.m. Bookmaker has installed the 76ers as a heavy -12 point favorite. 

Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview

The 76ers (4-1) have ripped off four straight wins after they dropped their season opener to the Milwaukee Bucks. They have been playing some really solid hoops under head coach Nick Nurse and 76ers fans are so happy to see center Joel Embiid playing with his back to the basket at times. Philadelphia has shown they can play lockdown defense in games lately as well. 

They are fresh off a big win over the Phoenix Suns, 112-100, and it was their defense that paved the way for that triumph. Phoenix was only 9-of-35 from beyond the arc as they were living and dying with the three-ball. The 76ers did a great job with their perimeter defense. They easily covered as a five-point favorite. The Sixers have covered the spread in every game they have played this season. They have shown early on they can be a profitable play. 

On offense, they have shown a nice balanced attack on the floor, led by Embiid who has had an incredible start to the season, averaging close to 30 a game, including the 26 he had against the Suns. The 76ers are also a team that wants to get up and down the court and they will push the pace against the Wizards, who had some issues with their transitional defense. 

Washington Wizards Betting Preview

The Wizards (1-4) have had a rough start to the season as they have dropped three straight and four of five to start the season. Their lone win came over the Memphis Grizzlies and it was not easy as they triumphed 113-106. Washington does not have a ton of expectations heading into the season and they are in the process of a rebuild. 

However, they would love to get an early season signature road win against the Sixers. 

On offense, the Wizards are led by small forward Kyle Kuzma who is netting around 22 a game this season to go along with seven rebounds and close to four assists per contest. As a team, the Wizards average around 115 points per clip and they have covered three of their last four but they will have their work cut for them guarding Embiid. 

They need to slow the pace and tempo down and not allow the Sixers to get out on fast breaks. They also need to win the battles on the boards too. If Kuzma can get hot they can keep this game close. Look for Kuzma to also get slick shooting guard Jordan Poole into the mix as well. He is a nice scorer and has averaged around 17.6 per contest.
