NBA Betting Picks and Predictions: Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors

October 24, 2023

The Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors clash as the NBA season tips off for both teams on Tuesday night inside the Chase Center in San Francisco, CA. They tip it off at 10pm on the west coast as both teams believe they have the makeup to make a deep run into the Western Conference Finals. Both teams have aspirations of making a deep run come springtime.

Betonline has installed the Warriors as a slim 1-point favorite (-115).

Golden State Warriors Betting Preview

The Warriors (0-0) are a veteran team that has been there before. They still have one of the greatest shooters in NBA history in Stephen Curry, who averaged 29.4 points last season to lead all players on the team. He is still one of the best players in the league and at age 35 can still light it up any given night. The Warriors finished last season 44-38 and lost in six games in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

They are a team that loves to get up and down the floor and they can score in bunches when they need to. They averaged 116.1 points per game and finished 8th out of 30 teams in offensive ratings. They allowed just around 114 points per game on the defensive side of the floor.

When they score more than 116 points per game, the Warriors were 39-23 overall and a solid mark of 34-28 against the spread. Bettors love when they get up and down the floor and score in bunches. They also rely bigtime on the three-point shot and that is their bread and butter, but they also have a veteran player in shooting guard Klay Thompson who also chipped in with 21 points per game to take some pressure off Curry.

Phoenix Suns Betting Preview

The Suns (0-0) are a team that is so hard to figure out because they have the depth and the talent to win an NBA title, but we have not seen them go all the way and hoist a trophy. Perhaps this season is different as they now have their own version of the "Big 3" They will lean on Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. Those three alone should make this team an instant contender heading into the season.

The Western Conference is top heavy, and the Suns can make some noise. They finished last season with a mark of 45-37 before losing to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets.

They are not only big-time scorers, but they are also playmakers that can create a ton of spacing on the floor. Durant netted 26 per game, while Booker added 27 per clip to form a solid 1-2 punch. Beal posted 23 points per game last season in Washington. He was drafted by the Wizards and spent the first 11 years of his career there. The pressure will be on the new faces with the Suns and expect them to put up some big numbers against the Warriors.

Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick

Dating back to last season, the Suns are 2-3 in their last five games and 3-2 in their last five games against the spread. Last season, they went 20-20 in their road games against the number. The Warriors dating back to last season, are 3-2 in their last five games but just 12-29 in their road games against the number. The totals have gone over in three of their last five games.

We think Phoenix starts the season off on the right foot, Suns +1 (-110)
