NBA Betting Picks and Predictions: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Philadelphia 76ers
October 29, 2023
The struggling Portland Trail Blazers take on a serious contender in the East, the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers are heavily favored at -9.5 to win while at home.

Portland Trail Blazers Betting Preview
The Trail Blazers have lost their last two games and are seeking their first win of the year. They recently fell short against the Orlando Magic, at 102-97. They only won the third quarter in points, whereas the Magic won in all the others.
Their point totals are a little lacking, as they average 104.0 points per game and rank 25
th
in the league. Looking at their defense, they allow 112.5 points per game and rank 16
th
best.
Malcom Brogdon leads the team in points at 19.0 and 3.0 assists a game. Deandre Ayton is nearly averaging a double-double, with 9.0 points and 13.5 rebounds. In addition, they have four guys that could average close to 20 points a night.
The Trail Blazers finished last year with a 33-49 record and 13
th
in the Western Conference. They will need to get back on track soon if they want a shot at improving upon that record.
Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview
The 76ers had a solid playoff run last season and finished third in the East with a 54-28 record. They came out just short in their opener against the Milwaukee Bucks with a 118-117 finish.
They are still without James Harden, who is having issues with wanting to be traded and has yet to play. Last season, Harden averaged 21.0 points and 10.7 assists per game. While he came up short in the last few games in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, he was a key component to their success.
While preseason play does not matter a lot, they were able to have good momentum against the Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets prior to their opener. In those two games alone, they averaged 123.5 points per game and allowed 112.5 from opponents.
Assuming they can have a strong defense here, their offense has a chance to shine. Currently, they have five guys that can average double digits in points per game.
Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
MyBookie is showing their latest offering of odds, with the Philadelphia 76ers heavily favored to win. Market analysis has the Sixers’ chances of winning at 76.1 percent.
The Trail Blazers do not have enough weapons to contend with the Sixers, especially with Joel Embiid. Look for the Sixers to land a good win while playing at home and potentially add them to a parlay with other matchups on the night to boost their payout.
Spooky Express Pick: Philadelphia 76ers-9.5
