The final game of the Sweet 16 in the 2024 NCAA Tournament will feature the 3-seed Creighton Bluejays against the 2-seed Tennessee Volunteers in the Midwest Region, with the game taking place in Detroit, Michigan, at the Little Caesars Arena with the game starting at 10:09 PM ET on Friday night and airing on TBS.

The UConn Huskies have only lost three games this season, and one of their losses came against the Creighton Bluejays during the Big East Conference play. The Bluejays had a record of 4-2 against NCAA tournament teams during the regular season, with wins coming against the Alabama Crimson Tide, Marquette Golden Eagles, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and the UConn Huskies. 

Creighton defeated the Akron Zips in the 1^st round of the 2024 NCAA tournament by a score of 77-60 in what was a close game in the 1^st half and only a 5-point play at halftime as the Bluejay led the Zips 39-34 at halftime before starting the 2^nd half on an 8-4 run and taking a 47-38 lead and would lead by double-digits at the 15:18 mark of the 2^nd half and would lead by double-digits for the rest of the game. 

However, their 2^nd round matchup against the Oregon Ducks went into double-overtime after the teams were tied 62-62 at the end of regulation and 71-71 at the end of the first overtime period, in which Jermain Couisnard knocked down a three-point shot to tie the game for Oregon with 17 seconds left in the overtime period before the Creighton Blue Jays would go on a 15-0 run to start the 2^nd overtime period and the Oregon Ducks would not score a point until 34 seconds left in the game in which they made two free throws which would also be the only points for the Ducks during the 2^nd overtime period. 

The Creighton Blue Jays will look to advance to their 2^nd straight Elite Eight with a win against the Tennessee Volunteers in the Sweet 16 on Friday night.

The SEC was tied for the most teams to receive eight bids to the 2024 NCAA Tournament. However, only the Alabama Crimson Tide and Tennessee Volunteers advanced to the 2^nd weekend of the tournament. 

The Volunteers have seen their defensive efficiency play a crucial part in their success in the tournament this season, as they have allowed an average of 53.5 points per game in their first two games. Tennessee had a close call against the 7-seed Texas Longhorns in the 2^nd round of the NCAA Tournament and only won the game against the Longhorns by four points in what looked to be a game the Volunteers were in control of at halftime as they led 28-19. 

This will be the 10^th time Tennessee has played in the Sweet 16 and the 2^nd consecutive season. However, the Volunteers have only advanced to the Elite Eight once in school history, which came in the 2010 NCAA Tournament following a win against the Ohio State Buckeyes by a score of 76-73. The Tennessee Volunteers will look to advance to their 2^nd Elite Eight in school history when they face the Creighton Bluejays on Friday night in the Sweet 16 round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

BetOnline lists the Tennessee Volunteers as 2.5-point favorites against the Creighton Bluejays in the Sweet 16 round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament on Friday night. Creighton has covered the spread in both games in the tournament, while Tennessee has a record of 1-1 ATS this season.

Tennessee will be making its 10^th appearance in the Sweet 16. However, the Volunteers have compiled a record of 1-8 in the Sweet 16 in tournament history, with their lone win coming in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. 

The Bluejays will be playing in the Sweet 16 for the 2^nd tournament in a row and have covered the spread in both games in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. As a result, I am buying the .5 point and taking the points with the Creighton Bluejays when they face the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday night in the Sweet 16.
