January 26, 2024

The red-hot and streaking Oklahoma City Thunder get set to clash against the New Orleans Pelicans Friday night inside the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, LA. They tip it off at 8:00 pm. The Thunder have won four straight games and will be looking for their fifth straight win overall. Bookmaker has installed the Pelicans as a slim - 1 point favorite.

Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Preview

The Thunder (31-13) are enjoying a great season and they are doing it on both ends of the court. They have shown they can score with some of the best teams in the league and they also play lockdown defense as well when it matters the most.

Offensively, they are led by one of the top point guards in the entire league in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who at such a young age has the ability to take over games and score at a torrid pace. The 25-year-old is averaging a whopping 31 points per game to go along with just under six rebounds per contest.

He is the face of the franchise and they have done a very nice job of building around him. Their guard play has also as a whole been outstanding and they will look to push the pace and the tempo. if they can get into the paint and attack the tin, they should be able to get some easy buckets here and there.

New Orleans Pelicans Betting Preview

The Pelicans (26-18) have also enjoyed a nice bounce-back season as they sit eight games over .500 as they enter play Friday night. They have won five of seven overall and they are still a threat to come out of the Southeast Division as they lead Dallas by two games for the top spot in that division.

They appear to have some staying power, but they would love to get on a nice little run and win some games here and there to get some much-needed breathing room. Dallas is a veteran team that appears to not be going away. It is imperative that the Pelicans start to flex their defensive muscle in these games and look for them to put forth a nice effort against a very good Thunder team.

Offensively, the Pelicans are led by two very good players in Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, who are both netting over 21 a game. They are two very young and dynamic players that can take over games and as long as Williamson is on the floor and healthy, the Pelicans have a shot at winning on any given night.
