NFL Betting Pick & Prediction: New England Patriots vs. New York Giants

November 26, 2023

The New England Patriots will travel to East Rutherford, New Jersey to face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 1:00 PM ET on Sunday afternoon in week 12 of the NFL season and will air on Fox.

This has been the worst season that the New England Patriots have had with Bill Belichick as head coach as they enter this game in last place in the AFC East with a record of 2-8 while having lost three games in a row including a 6-10 loss at home against the Indianapolis Colts in week 10. The Patriots have struggled offensively this season as they enter this game averaging the 2nd fewest points per game in the NFL with an average of 14.1 points per game and Mac Jones is likely in his last season as the starting quarterback for the Patriots as he has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the league this season. Jones enters this game having completed 212 of 324 attempts for 2,031 yards with ten touchdowns and ten interceptions and has a quarterback rating of 80.2 which ranks 26th in the NFL. However, the Patriots will be facing the only team averaging fewer points per game than they have when they travel to face the New York Giants.

The New York Giants have been the lowest-scoring team in the NFL this season as they are averaging 13.55 points per game which has led to one of the worst records in the league with a record of 3-8 which puts them in last place in the NFC East. The Giants ended their three-game losing streak with a 31-19 win on the road in week 11 against the Washington Commanders. Tommy DeVito had the best game of his career in the matchup as he threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns in the win. The Giants will look to build off of the momentum with the win in that game when they host the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon.

BookMaker has the New England Patriots listed as 3-point favorites on the road against the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon in week 12 of the NFL season. New England has won six of the last nine and two of the last three meetings while the Giants are 7-2 ATS in the last nine and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The New England Patriots are 2-8 ATS overall, 1-3 ATS on the road, and 1-2 ATS as a favorite this season while the New York Giants are 3-7-1 ATS overall, 1-2-1 ATS at home, and 3-6-1 ATS as an underdog on the year.

Neither team is having a good season this year as New England enters this game with a record of 2-8 while New York has a record of 3-8. The matchup also features the two worst-scoring teams in the league as New England ranks 31st in points per game while New York ranks 32nd. This should be one of the lowest-scoring games this season in the NFL and the under has been the trend in the series as it has hit in five of the last nine meetings which is why I am buying the .5 point and taking the under 34 total points when the Patriots face the Giants.
