NFL Betting Preview: Arizona Cardinals vs. Atlanta Falcons

November 12, 2023

The Atlanta Falcons will travel to Glendale, Arizona to face the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on Sunday afternoon in week 10 of the NFL season with the game scheduled for 4:05 PM ET and will air regionally on CBS.

Taylor Heinicke has improved the offense for the Atlanta Falcons since taking over as the starting quarterback after taking over for Desmond Ridder who struggled as the starting quarterback in his 2nd season completing 157 of 240 attempts for 1,701 yards with six touchdowns and six interceptions while Taylor Heinicke has completed 33 of 59 attempts for 443 yards with two touchdowns and an interception over the previous two games. However, the Falcons are on a two-game losing streak following last week’s 28-31 loss at home against the Minnesota Vikings while failing to cover the 3.5-point spread as a home favorite which has dropped their record to 4-5 this season and 2nd place in the NFC South after starting the season off at 2-0. The Falcons should have an easier time this week as they will face the team with the worst record in the NFL when they travel to face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Barring any setback, Kyler Murray will be the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday which will be his first start of the season and the Cardinals are hoping that he turns around one of the worst offenses in the NFL as they are averaging the 5th fewest points per game this season with an average of 16.78 points per game and the defense hasn’t been any better as they are allowing the 6th most points per game with an average of 26.67 points per game which has led to the Cardinals being tied for the worst record in the NFL this season at 1-8 and a last-place finish in the NFC West. However, that isn’t unexpected as the Arizona Cardinals entered this season with the lowest over/under win total of 4.5 wins. Kyler Murray should energize the offense this week and they may still get over the win total, but this is still the worst team in the NFL this year.

BookMaker has the Atlanta Falcons listed as 2-point favorites on the road against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon in week 10 of the NFL season. Atlanta has won six of the last ten and two of the last three meetings. Both teams are 5-5 ATS in the last ten while the Cardinals are 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Atlanta Falcons are 2-7 ATS overall, 1-2 ATS on the road, and 1-5 ATS as a favorite this season while the Arizona Cardinals are 4-5 ATS overall, 3-1 ATS at home, and 4-5 ATS as an underdog on the year.

Despite being arguably the worst team in the NFL this season, the Arizona Cardinals have been one of the better teams at covering the spread at home going 3-1 ATS in their home games while the Atlanta Falcons are 1-2 ATS on the road and have only covered one game as a favorite going 1-5 ATS as a favorite this season. The Cardinals have also been the better team at covering the spread most recently in the series, going 2-1 ATS in the last three matchups. Take the points with the Arizona Cardinals when they host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
