NFL Betting Preview: Baltimore Ravens vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

December 17, 2023

Two division leaders will square off against each other on Sunday night when the Baltimore Ravens travel to Jacksonville, Florida to face the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 PM ET and will air on NBC and the Peacock App.

The Baltimore Ravens have the best record in the AFC with a record of 10-3 and are on a three-game winning streak while having won seven of their last eight games following last week’s 37-31 win in overtime at home against the Los Angeles Rams. The Ravens have been the best rushing team in the league this season as they enter this game averaging 157.08 rushing yards per game while also being the 4th highest-scoring team as they enter this game averaging 27.77 points per game.

Lamar Jackson has played a pivotal role in the success the offense has had for Baltimore as he leads the team in passing and rushing having completed 252 of 377 attempts for 2,934 yards with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 644 yards and five touchdowns. The Ravens also have the 2nd best scoring defense in the NFL as they are allowing an average of 16.77 points per game. Baltimore will look to extend their winning streak to four games when they travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday night.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in 1st place in the AFC South with a record of 8-5 and have a one-game lead over the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans for 1st place in the division. However, the Jaguars are on a two-game losing streak following a 27-31 loss on the road against the Cleveland Browns in week 14 and the defense has struggled over the past two games as they are allowing an average of 32.5 points per game during the losing streak.

Jacksonville has been a slightly above-average scoring team this season as they enter this game averaging 24 points per game which is above the league average of 21.81 points per game and the success they have had offensively can be attributed to the passing offense as they enter this matchup averaging 242.92 passing yards per game which ranks 9th in the NFL.

Trevor Lawrence is having a solid season as he enters this game having completed 299 of 449 attempts for 3,261 yards with 17 touchdowns and ten interceptions while rushing for 259 yards and four touchdowns. The Jacksonville Jaguars will look to end their two-game losing streak when they host the Baltimore Ravens in week 15 of the NFL season.

BookMaker has the Baltimore Ravens listed as 3-point favorites on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday night in week 15 of the NFL season. The teams are 5-5 in the last ten while Jacksonville has won two of the last three meetings. The Jaguars are 7-3 ATS in the last ten and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Baltimore Ravens are 8-5 ATS overall, 3-2 ATS on the road, and 7-5 ATS as a favorite this season while the Jacksonville Jaguars are 8-5 ATS overall, 2-4 ATS at home, and 2-3 ATS as an underdog on the year.

Baltimore enters this game with a better record, however, Jacksonville has been the better team most recently in the series, winning two of the last three meetings. The Jaguars are 7-3 ATS in the last ten and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series which is why I am taking the points with the Jacksonville Jaguars when they host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night in week 15 of the NFL season.
