NFL Betting Preview: Buffalo Bills vs. Dallas Cowboys

December 17, 2023

One of the more interesting games in week 15 of the NFL season will feature the Dallas Cowboys traveling to Orchard Park, New York to face the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium with the game kicking off at 4:25 PM ET and will be the Game of the Week on Fox on Sunday afternoon.

The Dallas Cowboys have looked like one of the most dominating teams this season in the NFC and since their loss against the San Francisco 49ers in week 5 have won seven of their last eight games and are on a five-game winning streak. The Cowboys are coming off a dominating performance against the reigning NFC Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, by a score of 33-13.

Dak Prescott is playing at an MVP level as he is 4th in the NFL in passing yards with 3,505 yards with 28 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 185 yards and two touchdowns and has the offense playing at a high level as they lead the league in points per game with an average of 32.38 points per game. Not to be outdone, the defense is also one of the best scoring defenses in the NFL as they are allowing the 4th fewest points per game with an average of 17.92 points per game. The Cowboys will look to extend their winning streak to six games when they travel to face the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo is fighting for their playoff lives as they enter this game with a record of 7-6 and are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, and Cincinnati Bengals for the final two spots in the AFC Wild Card, however, they lose the tiebreaker against all of the teams they are tied with as they are currently in 11th place in the NFL.

The Bills are coming off a 20-17 win on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs in week 14, however, they have lost four of their last seven games. Buffalo features an above-average offense and an above-average defense as they enter this game averaging 26.77 points per game which ranks 5th in the NFL and are allowing the 6th fewest points per game with an average of 18.77 points per game.

Josh Allen has had trouble protecting the football as he enters this game with 14 interceptions, however, he continues to play at a high level as he has completed 318 of 475 attempts for 3,447 yards with 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while rushing for 374 yards and ten touchdowns. The Buffalo Bills will look to stay in the playoff hunt when they host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon in week 15 of the NFL season.

BookMaker has the Buffalo Bills listed as 2-point favorites at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon in week 15 of the NFL season. The teams are 3-3 in the last six while Buffalo has won two of the last three meetings. The Bills are 4-1-1 ATS in the last six and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Dallas Cowboys are 9-4 ATS overall, 3-3 ATS on the road, and 0-2 ATS as an underdog this season while the Buffalo Bills are 5-8 ATS overall, 3-3 ATS at home, and 4-6 ATS as a favorite on the year.

Dallas enters this game with a better record, however, Buffalo has been the better team most recently in the series, winning two of the last three meetings. The Bills have also been the better team at covering the spread in the series, going 4-1-1 ATS in the last six and 2-1 ATS in the last three matchups.

The Cowboys have not covered the spread in any game they have been an underdog as they are 0-2 ATS as an underdog this season which is why I am laying the points with the Buffalo Bills when they host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon.
