NFL Betting Preview: Buffalo Bills vs. New York Giants

October 15, 2023

Sunday Night Football’s matchup on NBC for week 6 of the NFL season will feature the New York Giants traveling to Orchard Park, New York to play the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium at 8:20 PM ET.

The New York Giants enter this game with a record of 1-4 following a 16-31 loss on the road against the Miami Dolphins while failing to cover the 12.5-point spread as a road underdog in week 5 of the NFL season. New York scored 16 points while compiling a total of 268 total yards offensively which included 205 passing yards and 85 rushing yards while allowing 31 points and 524 total yards defensively which included 308 passing yards and 222 rushing yards. Daniel Jones led the team in passing, completing 14 of 20 attempts for 119 yards while rushing for 24 yards. Eric Gray led the team in rushing with 12 carries for 25 yards while adding a reception for one yard. Darren Waller led the team in receiving, catching eight of 11 targets for 86 yards.

Buffalo enters this game with a record of 3-2 following a 20-25 loss in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars while failing to cover the 5-point spread as a favorite in week 5 of the NFL season. The Bills scored 20 points while compiling a total of 388 yards offensively which included 359 passing yards and 29 rushing yards while allowing 25 points and 474 total yards defensively which included 315 passing yards and 196 rushing yards. Josh Allen led the team in passing, completing 27 of 40 attempts for 359 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while also leading the team in rushing with 14 yards and a touchdown. Stefon Diggs led the team in receiving, catching eight of 11 targets for 121 yards and a touchdown.

BookMaker has the Buffalo Bills listed as 15-point favorites at home against the New York Giants on Sunday night in week 6 of the NFL season. New York has won four of the last seven matchups and two of the last three games in the series while going 4-2-1 ATS in the previous seven meetings, however, both teams are 1-1-1 ATS in the last three contests. The Giants are 0-5 ATS overall, 0-3 ATS on the road, and 0-4 ATS as an underdog while the Buffalo Bills are 3-2 ATS overall, 2-0 ATS at home, and 3-2 ATS as a favorite on the year.

The New York Giants have been a dreadful team this season and will now be without Daniel Jones when they travel to take on one of the better teams in the AFC. New York has failed to cover the spread in any of their games this season while Buffalo has gone 3-2 ATS overall. I look for the Giants to struggle again this week as they have lost their last two games by at least 15 points which is why I will be laying the 15 points and taking the Buffalo Bills at home when they host the New York Giants on Sunday night.
