NFL Betting Preview: Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders

November 23, 2023

Two NFC East rivals will face each other on Thanksgiving afternoon in game two of the triple-header when the Washington Commanders travel to Arlington, Texas to face the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 4:30 PM ET and will air on CBS.

The Washington Commanders are coming off an embarrassing loss at home against the New York Giants, who are down to their 3rd string quarterback, by a score of 19-31 which also extends their losing streak to two games and puts them in 3rd place in the NFC East with a record of 4-7. Washington’s defense has struggled over the last two games as they are allowing an average of 30 points per game. Turnovers killed Washington in the matchup against New York as they were -6 in the turnover battle with Sam Howell struggling in the game as well as he threw three interceptions against the Giants. This week they will be going against one of the best offenses in the NFL which doesn’t bode well for a struggling defense when they travel to face the Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas has been one of the hottest teams in the NFL as they have won four of their last five games and are on a two-game winning streak following a 33-10 win on the road against the Carolina Panthers. The offense for the Cowboys has also been one of the best offenses in the NFL this season as they are averaging the 2nd most points per game in the league with an average of 29.89 points and Dak Prescott has played a pivotal role in the success the offense has had this season as he has thrown for 2,604 yards with 19 touchdowns and six interceptions. The Cowboys also have one of the best scoring defenses in the league as they are allowing the 4th fewest points per game this season with an average of 18.33 points allowed per game. The Cowboys will be looking to extend their winning streak to three games when they host one of the worst teams in the NFL, the New York Giants, on Thanksgiving afternoon.
