NFL Betting Preview: Green Bay Packers vs. New York Giants

December 11, 2023

The Green Bay Packers will travel to East Rutherford, New Jersey to face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Monday night with the game kicking off at 8:15 PM ET in week 14 of the NFL season and will air on ABC and ESPN+.

After a dreadful start to the season with a record of 2-5, the Green Bay Packers have won four of their last five games and are on a three-game winning streak following a 27-19 win at home against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. Jordan Love has started to look like a quality quarterback over the last few games as he has completed 74 of 108 attempts for 857 yards with eight touchdowns and no interceptions during the win streak which has improved their record to 6-6 and puts them in a tie with the Minnesota Vikings for 2nd place in the NFC North and in the playoffs as the final Wild Card team in the NFC. The Packers have also had one of the best scoring defenses in the league this season as they are allowing an average of 20.25 points per game which ranks 9th in the NFL. The Green Bay Packers will look to extend their winning streak to four games when they travel to face the New York Giants.

The New York Giants have been one of the worst teams in the NFC as they enter this game with a record of 4-8, however, they are on a two-game winning streak following a 10-7 win at home against the New England Patriots in week 12 of the NFL season. Tommy DeVito has looked like a serviceable quarterback over the last two games for the Giants as he has completed 35 of 51 attempts for 437 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. However, the Giants remain one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league as they enter this game averaging 13.25 points per game which ranks 31st in the NFL. Defensively, the Giants have also been one of the worst scoring defenses in the NFL as they are allowing an average of 24.33 points per game which ranks 26th in the league. The Giants will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they host the Green Bay Packers on Monday night in week 14 of the NFL season.

BookMaker has the Green Bay Packers listed as 6.5-point favorites on the road against the New York Giants on Monday night in week 14 of the NFL season. The teams are 5-5 in the last ten while Green Bay has won two of the last three meetings. The Giants are 6-3-1 ATS in the last ten while the Packers are 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Green Bay Packers are 7-5 ATS overall, 3-3 ATS on the road, and 1-0 ATS as a favorite this season while the New York Giants are 4-7-1 ATS overall, 2-2-1 ATS at home, and 4-6-1 ATS as an underdog on the year.

Green Bay enters this game with a better record and has been the better team most recently in the series, winning two of the last three matchups while going 2-1 ATS in those contests. The Packers have also been the better team at covering the spread this season as they are 7-5 ATS overall while the Giants are 4-7-1 ATS overall. I look for those trends to continue which is why I am buying the .5 point and laying the points with the Green Bay Packers when they travel to face the New York Giants on Monday night in week 14 of the NFL season.
