Entering last season nobody gave the Seattle Seahawks a chance of making the playoffs after they traded away their future Hall of Fame quarterback, Russell Wilson, and turned to Geno Smith who many considered to be a bust after being selected with a 2^nd round pick back in the 2013 NFL Draft and had not had much production in the NFL. Instead, Seattle finished with a record of 9-8 and a 2^nd place finish in the NFC West, the Seahawks made the playoffs but were eliminated in the Wild Card round against the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 23-41.

After making the playoffs for three consecutive seasons the Green Bay Packers finished in 3^rd place in the NFC North with a record of 8-9 and missed the playoffs. The Packers will now be turning to Jordan Love as their starting quarterback after trading Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets in the offseason. Jordan Love has shown massive improvement in the preseason completing 12 of 18 attempts for 130 yards and two touchdowns while adding 11 yards rushing.

BookMaker has the Green Bay Packers listed as 3-point favorites at home against the Seattle Seahawks in week 3 of the preseason on Saturday. Green Bay has won six of the last ten and two of the last three games in the series while going 7-2-1 ATS in the last ten and 2-0-1 ATS in the last three games. 

Green Bay has split their first two preseason games defeating Cincinnati on the road by a score of 36-19 and losing to New England at home in week 2 by a score of 17-21. The Packers are averaging 26.5 points per game in the preseason while averaging 388.5 total yards, 237.5 passing yards, and 151 rushing yards per game. Sean Clifford leads the team in passing completing 33 of 45 attempts for 345 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions while adding 29 rushing yards. Emanuel Wilson leads the team in rushing with 21 carries for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Malik Heath leads the team in receiving with eight receptions for 111 yards.

The Seahawks will be looking to finish the preseason undefeated after last week’s 22-14 win at home against the Dallas Cowboys in week 2 of the preseason. Will Grier led the team in passing completing 13 of 18 attempts for 136 yards and an interception. Rico Dowdle led the team in rushing with eight carries for 38 yards. Jalen Tolbert led the team in receiving, catching four of six targets for 66 yards.

Both teams have played well in the preseason, however, given the Packers dominance at covering the spread going 7-2-1 ATS in the last ten and 2-0-1 ATS in the last three games in the series and the fact that they are playing at home, I will be taking the Green Bay Packers -3 at home against the Seattle Seahawks in week 3 of the NFL preseason on Saturday afternoon to close out the preseason with a record of 2-1.
