NFL Betting Preview: San Francisco 49ers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

November 19, 2023

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel to Santa Clara, California to face the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in an NFC matchup on Sunday afternoon in week 11 of the NFL season with the game kicking off at 4:05 PM ET and will air regionally on Fox.

The Buccaneers had a solid start to the season and looked as though they may be the favorites in the NFC South as they started the year with a record of 3-1, however, since that start the Buccaneers have lost four of their last five games but finally ended their four-game losing streak on Sunday at home with a 20-6 win against the Tennessee Titans while covering the 2.5-point spread as a home favorite. Tampa Bay has had a below-average offense this season as they enter this game 19.78 points per game which is the 10th fewest points per game in the NFL and they have the worst rushing offense in the league as they are averaging 78.11 rushing yards per game. Things won’t get any easier for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they travel to face one of the best defenses in the NFL on Sunday when they face the San Francisco 49ers on the road.

The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the best teams in the NFC over the past few seasons as they have played in three of the last four NFC Championship games and remain one of the better teams this season as they enter this matchup with a record of 6-3 and finally ended their three-game losing streak with a dominating 34-3 win on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.  The 49ers have one of the best scoring defenses in the league as they are allowing an average of 15.89 points per game which is tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the fewest points allowed per game this year. Christian McCaffrey continues to be one of the best players in the NFL and enters this game leading the NFL in rushing with 747 yards and nine touchdowns while Brock Purdy has the best passer rating in the NFL at 109.9 and has completed 172 of 250 attempts for 2,329 yards with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions and will look to continue to build on the momentum of last week’s game when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon.

BookMaker has the San Francisco 49ers listed as 12-point favorites at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon in week 11 of the NFL season. San Francisco has won six of the last ten and two of the last three meetings while going 6-4 ATS in the last ten and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 6-3 ATS overall, 4-0 ATS on the road, and 4-2 ATS as an underdog this season while the San Francisco 49ers are 5-4 ATS overall, 3-1 ATS at home, and 5-4 ATS on the year.

San Francisco is the better team this season and has been the better team in the series, winning six of the last ten and two of the last three games. However, the Buccaneers have been the slightly better team this season as they are 6-3 ATS overall and have covered the spread in all of their road games this year with a record of 4-0 ATS on the road which is why I am taking the points with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they travel to face the San Francisco 49ers.
