NFL Betting Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Buffalo Bills
October 26, 2023
Week 8 of the NFL season will kick off on Thursday night when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to Orchard Park, New York to face the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium with the game airing on Amazon Prime at 8:15 PM ET.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter this game with a record of 3-3 and are on a two-game losing streak following a 13-16 loss at home against the Atlanta Falcons while failing to cover the 3-point spread as a home favorite in week 7 of the NFL season. Tampa Bay scored 13 points while compiling a total of 329 yards offensively which included 275 passing yards and 73 rushing yards while allowing 16 points and 401 total yards defensively which included 250 passing yards and 156 rushing yards.
Baker Mayfield led the team in passing, completing 27 of 42 attempts for 275 yards with a touchdown and an interception while rushing for 32 yards on three attempts. Rachaad White led the team in rushing with 13 carries for 34 yards while adding six receptions for 65 yards. Mike Evans led the team in receiving, catching six of eight targets for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Buffalo enters this game with a record of 4-3 following a 25-29 loss on the road against the New England Patriots while failing to cover the 7.5-point spread as a road favorite in week 7 of the NFL season. The Bills scored 25 points while compiling a total of 339 yards offensively which included 265 passing yards and 81 rushing yards while allowing 29 points and 364 total yards defensively which included 272 passing yards and 96 rushing yards. Josh Allen led the team in passing, completing 27 of 41 attempts for 265 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while adding 17 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. James Cook led the team in rushing with 13 carries for 56 yards while adding three receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown. Dalton Kincaid led the team in receiving, catching all eight targets for 75 yards.
BookMaker has the Buffalo Bills listed as 8-point favorites at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night in week 8 of the NFL season. Tampa Bay has won four of the last six games and two of the last three meetings while going 4-1-1 ATS in the last six and 2-0-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3-3 ATS overall, 2-0 ATS on the road, and 2-2 ATS as an underdog this season while the Buffalo Bills are 3-4 ATS overall, 2-1 ATS at home, and 3-4 ATS as a favorite on the year.
Tampa Bay has dominated this series winning four of the last six games and are 4-1-1 ATS in those contests. The Bills are the better team and I expect them to win, however, given how good the Buccaneers have been in the series at covering the spread I am taking the points when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to face the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night in week 8 of the NFL season.
Spooky Express Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers +8
