NFL Betting Preview: Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts

December 3, 2023

Two AFC South division rivals will square off in week 13 of the NFL season when the Indianapolis Colts travel to Nashville, Tennessee to face the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The game is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM ET and will air on CBS.

The Indianapolis Colts would be in the playoffs if the playoffs started today as they enter this game with a record of 6-5 and are on a three-game winning streak following last week’s 27-20 win at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The offense continues to look solid as they have averaged 25.8 points per game over their last five matchups which has brought their season average up to 24.45 points per game which ranks 8th in the NFL. The rushing offense has been one of the key successes they have had this season as they rank 11th in the NFL in rushing yards per game with an average of 121.36 rushing yards per game while Jonathan Taylor and Zack Moss have combined 1,086 yards and nine touchdowns this season.

The Titans look like they are on their way to their 2nd straight losing season, something that has happened since the 2014-15 NFL season, as they enter this game with a record of 4-7 and have lost three of their last four games, however, they are coming off a 17-10 win at home against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday which ended their three-game losing streak. The offense continues to struggle over their last four games as they are averaging 13.25 points per game over the last four matchups and have been one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league as they are averaging the 6th fewest points per game this season with an average of 16.82 points per game. Derrick Henry has still had a solid season as he enters this matchup with the 4th most rushing yards in the NFL with 739 yards and has scored six rushing touchdowns this season.

BookMaker has the Indianapolis Colts listed as 1-point favorites on the road against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon in week 13 of the NFL season. Tennessee has won six of the last ten and two of the last three meetings while going 6-4 ATS in the last ten and 2-1 ATS in the last three games in the series. The Indianapolis Colts are 7-4 ATS overall, 3-1 ATS on the road, 3-0 ATS as a favorite, and 2-2 ATS in division games this season while the Tennessee Titans are 5-6 ATS overall, 4-0 ATS at home, 4-5 ATS as an underdog, and 0-2 ATS in division games on the year.

The Indianapolis Colts have been the better team this season and won the earlier game this season at home by a score of 23-17. The Colts have also been the slightly better team at covering the spread this season as they are 7-4 ATS overall and 3-0 ATS as a favorite. I look for the Colts to come away with the win on the road which is why I am taking the moneyline for the Indianapolis Colts are -117 when they travel to face the Tennessee Titans.
