NHL Betting Picks and Predictions: Los Angeles Kings vs. Philadelphia Flyers

November 4, 2023

The Los Angeles Kings (6-2-2) make the trip to Pennsylvania to take on the Philadelphia Flyers (5-5-1) in what should be a compelling NHL betting opportunity. The Kings are a moneyline favorite at -170.

Los Angeles Kings Betting Preview

The Kings are currently on a two-game winning streak and are aiming to find success on the road. Their most recent win was a 3-2 outing over the Ottawa Senators, where they were able to hold them off late in the game.

They are doing well in the Pacific Division and are currently third. After not getting a win until their third game, they are now playing exceptionally well.

Their offense is stout at 4.20 goals a game. They produce 33.0 shots a game, making them fairly accurate in their attempts to earn plenty of goals each game.

On defense, they do a solid job at allowing teams to average 3.10 goals a game. Opposing teams are also getting 27.7 shots a game, which is a decent number to have. If they did not perform as well on offense, this would likely be less appealing defense by them.

Philadelphia Flyers Betting Preview

The Flyers finally broke their three-game losing streak when they defeated the Buffalo Sabres 5-1 on the road. In those losses, they allowed teams to average five goals a game, while they only averaged 2.6 goals.

They are currently fifth in the Metropolitan Division and have an opportunity to extend their positive momentum. They do not have many games where they score over four goals, so this will be interesting to see if they can continue.

They are averaging 3.20 goals a game on offense and put up 33.3 shots a game. They will either need to be more aggressive in their shot attempts or aim for better accuracy if they want to hang with the Kings.

The Flyers defense gives up 3.30 goals per game and 26.7 shot attempts. Despite the lower number of shots, they still allow teams to get good looks to average that many goals.

Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick

MyBookie has the odds set for this matchup, which favors the Los Angeles Kings to win on the road. The Kings have consistently been good, while the Flyers have been shaky.

  • Philadelphia Flyers: +142

  • Los Angeles Kings: -170

The Flyers are not consistent to make enough good plays to win this game. They will need to score at least four goals in order to stay with the Kings. Look for the Kings to score around their four goal average for the win.

Spooky Express Pick: Los Angeles Kings -170
