The streaking and surprising Oklahoma City Thunder get set to clash against the reeling and rebuilding San Antonio Spurs Wednesday night inside the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. They tip it off at 9:30 pm. The Thunder have been on a nice tear, winning six of eight overall as they entered action Tuesday night. 

Bookmaker has installed the Thunder as a strong 7-point favorite. 

The Thunder have played some of their best basketball over the last several weeks and they were even able to mix in a nice little six out of eight wins run. They have a solid offense, a ton of ball handlers, and athleticism as well. 

On offense, they are led by the very talented scorer in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who has had a monster season, netting around 31 points per game and he has carved out a great role on this young team. He has defined himself as the face of the franchise and is a player to watch going forward for the Thunder, who are looking to make some noise in the Western Conference. 

They will look to push the ball from the get-go as the Spurs have had a hard time defending the perimeter and inside the lane. This is where the Thunder can attack and exploit the Spurs weak defense. 

They have solid guard play as well and this will be the difference in this game. 

The Spurs have had a lousy season and it is no secret they are in the midst of a rebuild, but at least they have a franchise player they believe they can build upon in

Although, defensively they have had some major issues and it was very evident Monday night when the Philadelphia 76ers not only beat them, but center Joel Embiid had a game for the ages, pouring in a team-record and franchise-high 70 points in a 133-123 win. Embiid also ripped down 18 rebounds in 37 minutes of action.

The Spurs had no answers for Embiid, and they know they will need to tighten up their defense going forward when they take on an athletic team in the Thunder. If the Spurs have any shot at winning this game they must find a way to contain Gilgeous-Alexander who has had some nice games against the Spurs in his career.

Overall, the Spurs connected on 53% from the floor, including 34% from beyond the arc.
