The 9^th-seed Oklahoma Sooners will face the 8^th-seed TCU Horned Frogs in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament on Wednesday afternoon. The Tournament will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, at the T-Mobile Center, with the game tipping off at 3:00 PM ET.

The Oklahoma Sooners are a near lock for the NCAA Tournament and, with a win against the TCU Horned Frogs on Wednesday, will be a lock for a bid after finishing the season with a record of 20-11 and in a tie with the Kansas State Wildcats for 9^th place in the Big 12 with a conference record of 8-10, however, the Sooners struggled down the stretch losing five of their final seven games with four of the losses coming against Top 25 opponents and ended the regular season with an 80-94 loss on the road against the Texas Longhorns. 

The Sooners played the Horned Frogs once during the regular season, which resulted in a 71-80 loss on the road at the start of conference play. Oklahoma’s defensive play to end the season significantly impacted the struggles down the stretch. The Sooners ranked 67^th nationally in points allowed per game, with an average of 67.67 points allowed per game. 

However, they allowed an average of 76.86 points per game over their final seven games. They will need to improve their defensive play if they make a deep run in the Big 12 Conference tournament. On Wednesday, their first matchup is against one of the highest-scoring teams when they face the TCU Horned Frogs.

Like the Oklahoma Sooners, the TCU Horned Frogs struggled down the stretch at the end of the regular season, losing four of their final six games, including a 77-79 loss at home against the UCF Knights, which led the Horned Frogs to finish the regular season with a record of 20-11 and a tie with the Texas Longhorns for 7^th place in the Big 12 Conference. 

TCU was one of the highest-scoring teams in college basketball this season, ranking 37^th nationally in scoring with an average of 80.53 points per game. The Horned Frogs are in the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. They will need to beat the Oklahoma Sooners to move off the bubble, and they will likely need to pull off the upset against the Houston Cougars in the Big 12 Quarterfinals to be guaranteed a spot in the Tournament. 

The Horned Frogs faced the Sooners early on in conference play and won at home by a score of 80-71. They will look to make it back-to-back wins against the Sooners when they face the Oklahoma Sooners in the second round of the Big 12 Conference tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
