PFL 9: 2023 Playoffs Betting Preview: Mostafa Rashed Nada vs. Korey Kuppe

August 23, 2023

PFL 9 presents an array of exciting betting options and showcases standout fighters that promise thrilling action. A notable example is the middleweight bout in the preliminary round, featuring Mostafa Rashed Nada and Korey Kuppe.

  • Date: August 23, 2023

  • Location: The Theater at Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

  • Main Card: ESPN/ESPN+ at 9:00 PM ET

  • Prelims: ESPN+ at 6:30 PM ET

Mostafa Rashed Nada Betting Preview

Nada is aiming to extend his three-fight winning streak against a respectable opponent. His most recent win was a first round knockout against Alexis Fontes back in December of 2019, so he will be shaking off some rust here.

Out of the seven victories he has posted, four have come by knockout, one by submission, and two decisions. Five of his wins have resulted in a first round finish and two of his three losses have come by submission.

He is making his debut under the PFL banner and is up against a great opponent. Previously, he has battled under various fighting organizations such as Desert Force MMA (4-1), UAE Warriors (1-0), and even Brave Combat (2-0).

Nada will be engaging in one of the toughest battles of his career. This is a great opportunity and he should have had plenty of time off to make an appealing fight happen.

Korey Kuppe Betting Preview

Kuppe is looking to improve on his two-fight win streak and with another victory under his belt. His most recent success was a first round guillotine choke submission against Terry VanAvery back in April of this year.

He has put together 11 wins so far in his career, with two coming by knockout and the other nine by submission. Seven of his victories have been a first round finish and three of his five losses have come by knockout.

He will be aiming to improve in his appearance in the PFL, as his last bout here was a defeat back in 2022. He has also failed to impress in Dana White’s Contender Series, but has a quality win in the Legacy Fighting Alliance.

Kuppe is currently ranked as the 41st best middleweight in the United States, as well as the 15th best professional light heavyweight fighter. This is a great opportunity if he can win, thus giving his rankings a chance to shine.

Game Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick

The following moneyline from MyBookie is showing that Korey Kupe is a slight favorite to win this battle. Both fighters have compelling resumes that make this a close battle, which should make for great entertainment.

  • Mostafa Rashed Nada: +108

  • Korey Kuppe: -128

  • *odds are subject to changes

Both fighters stack up well on paper. However, Kuppe is more appealing as he has battled the last few years professionally while Nada has not.

Final Pick: Take Korey Kuppe to Win at -128
