Spooky Express 2023 Circa Contest - Week 2 Plays

Last week, was.... well, let's call it what it was..... a complete disaster! We ended up going 2-3 on the week and just a bad week for us, as it was for many. Let's take a quick look at how we did last week.

Baltimore Ravens -10 (WINNER 25-9) The Ravens looked good in week 1, considering they lost their starting Running Back JK Dobbins early in the game and were still able to come away with the win. One thing to pay attention to with the Ravens down the road, Stroud (HOU) was able to throw for 242 yards and while he didn't have any touchdowns, he also didn't throw any picks.

Jacksonville Jaguars -4.5 (WINNER 31-21) Thanks to two late 4^th quarter touchdowns, we got the win on the Jaguars over the Colts. Colts had no rushing game at all. The top rusher was QB Richardson, which is not what you want for a rookie. The other 3 players that carried the ball combined for 25 rushing yards! OUCH!

Pittsburgh Steelers +2.5 (LOSER 30-7) The Steelers got spanked! They looked bad all across the board. There is not one single thing to say that was positive for the Steelers. I got a feeling they are in for a long season!

Washington Commanders -7 (LOSER 20-16) The Commanders looked bad. They simply couldn't score points and this offense is in some serious trouble if they can't find a way to move the ball. They threw for 156 yards and only ran the ball for 92 yards. The Cardinals also looked horrible but at least they were able to move the ball just enough to keep it competitive and cost us the cover. Washington won 20-16 but wasn't good enough for the cover, to cost us a loss on the day.

Chicago Bears -1 (LOSER 38-20) If you look on paper, it looks like this was a close game but it was anything but! GB had 329 total yards to Chicago's 311 yards and while Chicago moved the ball well, Fields was put into some spots where he was just hurried all day. He had no protection and GB got through the line anytime they wanted. If that continues, the Chicago Bears will be on the clock for the 1^st pick in the 2024 NFL Draft!

Now, on to this week!

Week 2 - September 14-18, 2023

Miami Dolphins -2.5

NY Giants -4.5

San Francisco -7.5

Buffalo Bills -8.5

Cincinnati Bengals -3.5

Miami Dolphins -2.5 - I think this is going to be a very chalky play but I got to go with it. New England has a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff going on and truth be told, we just don't think they are a good team this year.

New York Giants -4.5 - The Arizona Cardinals are a bad football team that is lost without their veteran leadership at QB. This team is rebuilding and already looking towards the future. The Giants will rebound this week.

San Francisco 49ers -7.5 - We are jumping on this as the Niners showed last week that they are legit. We feel they are one of the Top 3 teams in the NFL, and truth be told, we think the Rams are a little overrated.

Buffalo Bills -8.5 - Last week, the Bills ran into one of the best defenses we will see in 2023. Some are calling the Jets a generational defense. We think Bills bounce back in a big way here this week!

Cincinnati Bengals -3.5 - It's tough to go against the Ravens and the half point but they are banged up and we think the Bengals will expose them a little this week. We have the Bengals winning by a FG.
