The 2^nd College Football Playoff Semifinal game will take place in the 2024 Sugar Bowl on Monday, January 1^st, in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Caesars Superdome with the game scheduled to start at 8:45 PM ET on Monday night and will air on ESPN.

 

The Texas Longhorns finished the regular season with a record of 11-1 which led to a 1^st place finish in the Big 12 Conference and a spot in the Big 12 Championship game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys which resulted in a a 49-21 win to improve their record of 12-1 and earned a spot in the playoffs as the 3 seed.

Washington had one of their best seasons in school history as they finished the regular season with a record of 13-0 which included a 34-31 win against the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-12 Championship game. The Huskies faced five Top 25 teams this season and won all five contests. 

 

Michael Penix and the passing offense played a major role in the success of the Washington Huskies as Penix finished the season completing 307 of 466 attempts for 4,218 yards with 33 touchdowns and nine interceptions while the Huskies also had two 1,000-yard receivers with Rome Odunze entering the game with 81 receptions for 1,428 yards with 13 touchdowns while Ja’Lynn Polk enters with 60 receptions for 1,000 yards and eight interceptions.

 

The Huskies will look to remain undefeated and advance to the National Championship game when they face the Texas Longhorns in the 2024 Sugar Bowl on Monday night.
