The Tennessee Titans (2-0) and New Orleans Saints (1-1) will kick off another NFL preseason showdown at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, August 25, at 2:00 PM ET. The Titans are favored to succeed with a point spread of -3.5 (-110).
The Titans have narrowly won two consecutive preseason games and are on track to win another. Their most recent victory was a 16-15 outing over the Seattle Seahawks, in which they landed three field goals in the fourth quarter to come back and win.
They came out ahead even though they had the only turnover in the game. They kept possession of the football for roughly 37 minutes of game time, had 338 total yards, and achieved 23 first downs. All of these eclipsed what the Seahawks had on the field and ultimately were key differences in the game.
The Titans are averaging 16.5 points per game and have gained 33 points. To lead their offense, Mason Rudolph has completed 20 out of 34 passes and recorded one touchdown so far.
Their defense has also been solid, allowing just 28 points overall. This amounts to 14.5 points per game allowed, which should help their chances at success.
The Saints return to preseason action after a 16-10 defeat against the San Francisco 49ers. This was a close game throughout, and the Saints could not find scoring opportunities late when they needed them most.
They had similar possession time and first downs, but they turned the ball over once and had roughly 40 yards less overall. This shows that they can hang with teams long enough if they can keep possession and the offense moving.
Their offense has put up 26 points thus far. They are averaging 13.0 points per game, which will be an issue if they cannot keep up with the Titans.
On defense, they have given up 30 points, which averages out to 15.0 points allowed per contest. This is good news if they can hold the Titans to this amount, but they must up the offense to claim the win.
MyBookie has you covered regarding NFL preseason betting in the Tennessee Titans vs. New Orleans Saints battle. The odds currently have the Titans as 3.5-point favorites.
The Saints will be appealing here since they are at home and have ground out their last two battles despite the recent loss. However, stats show that the Titans should be able to defeat them in a close matchup to cover the spread.
