UFC Fight Night Betting Preview: Caio Borralho vs. Abus Magomedov
November 4, 2023
The forthcoming UFC Fight Night in São Paulo, Brazil, showcases a headlining middleweight contest on the main card, with Caio Borralho (14-1-0) set to face Abusupiyan Magomedov (25-5-1). Presently, Borralho is holding a moderate -290 favoritism for the victory.
Location: Ibirapuera Arena in São Paulo, Brazil
Date: Saturday, November 4, 2023
Main Card: 9:00 PM ET (ESPN+)
Prelims: 6:00 PM ET (ESPN+)
Caio Borralho Betting Preview
Borralho is currently on a 13-fight win streak (not including the no contest early in his career) and aiming to land another one. His most recent success was a second round rear-naked choke submission over Michal Oleksiejczuk back at UFC on ESPN 45 in April of this year.
He has 14 wins and a balanced resume, including four knockouts, four submissions, and six decisions. Six of these wins have resulted in first round finishes and he only has one defeat, coming by decision.
"The Natural" boasts an impressive 62 percent striking accuracy and does well in his takedown accuracy, coming in at 67 percent. He manages to land 2.59 significant strikes per minute while absorbing only 1.86, giving him a slight margin during striking exchanges.
His defensive skills are fairly reliable, with a 59 percent success rate in defending against significant strikes and a 57 percent success rate in defending takedowns. He engages in an average of 2.63 takedowns and 0.66 submissions per 15 minutes of fight time when on the ground.
Abusupiyan Magomedov Betting Preview
Magomedov recently had his three-fight win streak snapped when he was defeated by Sean Strickland in a second round TKO. This was back at UFC on ESPN 48 in July earlier this year and was his second UFC bout.
Out of his 25 victories, he has 14 knockouts, six submissions, and five decisions. 15 of his wins have resulted in first round finishes. In addition, he has two losses each by knockout and submission, showing he is susceptible to early finishes as well.
Abus boasts a 50 percent striking accuracy and a 50 percent takedown accuracy. His significant strike ratio leaves room for improvement, as he lands 5.60 significant strikes per minute but absorbs 8.39.
His defense holds a 57 percent success rate against significant strikes but lacks any defense against takedowns. Abus also averages 1.55 takedowns per 15 minutes of action.
Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
MyBookie's odds currently place Caio Borralho as a moderate favorite for victory. If you are confident in his win, you may want to include Borralho in a parlay to potentially increase his odds. Alternatively, explore prop bets, especially when more become available on Saturday.
Abusupiyan Magomedov: +195
Caio Borralho: -290
Borralho is more appealing on paper and should have a good opportunity to win. Adding him to a parlay would help his payout, but also consider a prop bet for an early finish.
Spooky Express Pick: Caio Borralho -290 (But play it in a Parlay)
