UFC Fight Night Betting Preview: Charlie Campbell vs. Alex Reyes

September 16, 2023

The upcoming UFC Fight Night has a fight that was recently changed. Charlie Campbell steps in place of Natan Levy to face Alex Reyes in the prelims for a lightweight showdown.

  • Location: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada

  • Date: Saturday, September 16, 2023

  • Main Card: 10:00 PM ET (ESPN+)

  • Prelims: 7:00 PM ET (ESPN+)

Charlie Campbell Betting Preview

Campbell is making his debut in the UFC since he got the call to replace Levy. He battled in the Dana White’s Contender Series, but came up short against Chris Duncan. His recent performance was a first round knockout victory against Josh Streacker back at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 120 in June of this year.

He has seven wins on his resume that consist of five knockouts and two decisions. So far, two of his knockouts have resulted in first round finishes and he has one loss each by knockout and decision.

Despite losing out in the DWCS, "The Cannibal” gets a shot to impress in the UFC. He also has some experience in Bellator, where he has gone 2-0 in the promotion.

Campbell is considered to be the 75th best professional lightweight fighter in the United States. This is an extraordinary opportunity to earn his stripes in the UFC with a win here.

Alex Reyes Betting Preview

Reyes is a walking miracle after his injuries, with a spinal fluid infection that sidelined him for six years and doctors estimated that he might not walk again. However, he is back at it in this fight. He has not fought since 2017, which was a first round knockout defeat against Mike Perry at UFC Fight Night 116.

This added to his knockout losses, with two out of three coming by that method. Out of his wins, he has 13 total, with nine knockouts and four submissions. 11 of his 13 wins have resulted in first round wins.

He previously battled in the UFC and had a striking accuracy at 46 percent, but nothing for takedowns. He landed 4.56 significant strikes, but took on 8.35. This ratio hopefully changed by now.

“The Executioner” defended significant strikes at 39 percent, but nothing against takedowns yet. He also has not had any ground action in the UFC.
