UFC Fight Night Betting Preview: Jamey-Lyn Horth vs. Veronica Hardy
December 2, 2023
The UFC on ESPN 52 features a women’s flyweight battle between Jamey-Lyn Horth and Veronica Hardy to kick off the prelims. Horrh is a slight moneyline favorite to find success at -150.
Jamey-Lyn Horth Betting Preview
Horth is coming off her debut in the UFC, which was a unanimous decision win against Hailey Cowan at UFC on ESPN 45 in April of this year. She remains undefeated through six fights and will put her skills to the test for her second appearance in the UFC.
She has put together six victories that consist of three knockouts, two submissions, and a decision. She has yet to land a first round finish, but is due for one any day now.
With only one UFC on her resume, her stats are limited. So far, she strikes with an accuracy at 73 percent and has yet to land a takedown. Her significant strike ratio is promising, as she lands 5.07 strikes each minute and takes on 4.20. This will be key for this battle.
Horth defends against significant strikes at 58 percent and against takedowns at 75 percent. She does not have averages yet for takedowns or submissions.
Veronica Hardy Betting Preview
Hardy has not been that successful in the UFC yet, going 2-4 in her six fights so far. Her recent battle was a unanimous decision over Juliana Miller at UFC 286 in March of this year.
In seven wins, she has earned a knockout, two submissions, and four decisions. She has two first round finishes and two of her four losses have come by decision.
She strikes with an accuracy at 46 percent and has typically landed takedowns at a 40 percent rate of success. Her significant strike ratio is a bit negative, as she lands 3.35 strikes but takes on 4.38 strikes each minute.
Her defenses are slightly lacking, with a 46 and 56 rate of defense against significant strikes and takedowns, respectively. She also compiles 1.34 takedowns and 0.45 submissions per 15 minutes of action.
Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
MyBookie has Jamey-Lyn Horth as the slight favorite to win this battle, despite being newer to the promotion. With both fighters having similar resumes, this could be a compelling battle.
Veronica Hardy: +120
Jamey-Lyn Horth: -150
Hardy has quality exposure in the UFC despite having a losing record. This is the opportunity for her to turn her career around.
However, she is up against a hungry opponent looking to make a statement. Look for Horth to find success by an early finish, likely by knockout.
Spooky Express Pick: Jamey-Lyn Horth at -150
