The upcoming night of fights at the UFC Fight Night in São Paulo, Brazil showcases exciting matchups, with the preliminary card being a great betting opportunity. One of those battles is a women’s strawweight bout between Montserrat Ruiz (10-3-0) and Eduarda Moura (9-0-0). Moura is favored to finish this fight in under two rounds at -155.

Ruiz is currently on a two-fight skid heading into this matchup. She recently lost in her battle against Jaqueline Amorim by a third round TKO back in August of this year at UFC on ESPN 51.

She has put together 10 wins so far on her resume, which include three knockouts, two submissions, and five decisions. Two of her five early finishes have ended in the first round and two of her three defeats have come by knockout.

Ruiz’s defense against significant strikes is a bit lacking at 42 percent but is a bit better at defending against takedowns at 67 percent. She also averages 2.56 takedowns and 1.03 submissions per 15 minutes of fight time. 

Moura is making her debut in the UFC after recently winning in her battle at Dana White’s Contender Series. This win was a first round rear-naked choke submission over Janaina Silva back in August earlier this year.

Her nine wins are composed of three knockouts, five submissions, and a decision. Impressively, seven of the nine wins have resulted in first round finishes.

“Ronda” was able to complete 38 percent of her strikes and landed her only takedown attempt in her DWCS fight. She also landed 1.50 significant strikes each minute and did not absorb any in that regard.

Moura did not fend off any takedowns, but defended against all significant strikes. In addition, she is averaging 3.75 takedowns and submissions per 15 minutes of fight time. These averages will even out once she has more time under her belt in the UFC.
