November 4, 2023
The upcoming UFC Fight Night in São Paulo, Brazil promises exciting matchups, including a preliminary light heavyweight showdown featuring Vitor Petrino (9-0-0) against Modestas Bukauskas (15-5-0). Petrino is the -220 favorite for victory in this battle.
Location: Ibirapuera Arena in São Paulo, Brazil
Date: Saturday, November 4, 2023
Main Card: 9:00 PM ET (ESPN+)
Prelims: 6:00 PM ET (ESPN+)
Vitor Petrino Betting Preview
Petrino has been successfully able to defend his nine wins in a row without a loss yet. His most recent success was a third round arm-triangle choke submission against Marcin Prachnio at UFC 290 in July of this year.
He has put together nine wins that consist of six knockouts, a submission, and two decisions. Four of his nine wins have ended in the first round.
“Icao” strikes with an accuracy at 51 percent and lands his takedowns at a rate of 73 percent. He delivers 3.35 significant strikes per minute and absorbs 2.84, which results in a favorable ratio when striking.
His defenses could improve, especially with a defense against significant strikes at 43 percent and 68 percent against takedowns. He also is aggressive on the ground with 4.42 takedowns and 1.21 submissions per 15 minutes of fighting time.
Modestas Bukauskas Betting Preview
Bukauskas is currently on a four-fight win streak and has some quality bouts under his belt. His recent success was a unanimous decision over Zac Pauga back at UFC on ESPN 47 in June of this year.
He has plenty of experience in his 15 wins, which consist of nine knockouts, two submissions, and four decisions. He has six first round finishes and three of his five defeats have come by knockout.
"The Baltic Gladiator” maintains a 41 percent striking accuracy in the UFC, but he has not successfully executed a takedown to date. His significant strike ratio slightly leans towards the negative side, with an average of 3.46 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 4.13.
His defense against significant strikes is somewhat lacking at 49 percent, but his takedown defense is more promising, standing at a 75 percent success rate. Thus far, he has not displayed much activity on the ground in his UFC career.
Odds, Series Trends and Free Pick
MyBookie has this battle favoring Vitor Petrino as a moderate favorite to win. If you are considering him for victory, you could aim to include him in a parlay on the night with other fights to help boost his potential payout.
Modestas Bukauskas: +180
Vitor Petrino: -220
Bukauskas has issues defending and is not active on the ground. Look for Perrino to win the striking war and take this potentially early or by a unanimous decision.
