What are the Best Prop Plays for Super Bowl LVII: Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers

February 11, 2024

There are always a lot of prop bets available to make for the Super Bowl and Super Bowl LVIII featuring the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday evening will be no different. The props feature a variety of options from how long the National Anthem will last to player props such as Super Bowl MVP to bets revolving around the commercials, however, there are five prop bets on Sunday evening that I believe will be winning bets for Super Bowl LVIII. I will list the prop bets in order and give reasoning behind why I believe they are good bets to make this year.

Christian McCaffrey Super Bowl MVP (+450)

If you believe the San Francisco 49ers will win Super Bowl LVIII against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday then McCaffrey is one of the best bets you can make for Super Bowl MVP. McCaffrey has been one of the most dominant offensive players this season in the NFL as he won the NFL rushing title with 1,459 rushing yards which was almost 300 more yards than 2nd place finisher, Derrick Henry, and 14 rushing touchdowns while adding 67 receptions for 564 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. McCaffrey has also played a pivotal role in the success the 49ers have had in the postseason as he has rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns while adding 11 receptions for 72 yards.

Patrick Mahomes Over 262.5 Passing Yards

The pass rush for the San Francisco 49ers is one of the best in the NFL, however, they have a young and inexperienced secondary that has been suspect at times this season and that was evident in the NFC Championship game when Jared Goff threw for 273 passing yards. The way to beat the San Francisco 49ers is by passing as San Francisco is allowing the 5th fewest rushing yards per game with an average of 97 rushing yards allowed per game. I expect the Kansas City Chiefs to win the game and I expect Patrick Mahomes to play a pivotal role in the win for the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII.

Rashee Rice Over 68 Receiving Yards

I expect Patrick Mahomes to throw for over 262.5 passing yards and I look for Rashee Rice to be one of the main beneficiaries of the passing attack. Rashee Rice has averaged 82.2 receiving yards over the last nine games and has become one of the primary targets for Mahomes during that time. Rice has also been targeted an average of nine times per game over the previous nine games for Kansas City. I look for those trends to continue which is why I am taking the over 68 receiving yards for Rashee Rice in Super Bowl LVIII.

Rashee Rice Over 6.5 Receptions

As mentioned above, Rashee Rice has been targeted an average of nine times per game over the last nine games for the Kansas City Chiefs and I expect Rice to have over 68 receiving yards. Rice has averaged seven receptions over that span and has had seven or more receptions in six of the last nine games. I expect Rashee Rice to continue that trend and have at least seven receptions in Super Bowl LVIII when the Chiefs face the 49ers.

Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl MVP (+140)

I expect the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday evening when they face the San Francisco 49ers and the quarterback of the team that has won the Super Bowl has been named Super Bowl MVP in ten of the last 14 Super Bowls. The way for the Chiefs to win this game is through their passing game as well. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl are two of my favorite bets when the Kansas City Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday evening.
